Located approximately 40 km (25 mi) west of Toronto, Milton is a town in southern Ontario and considered part of the Greater Toronto Area. Despite its proximity to Canada's largest city, many outdoor activities can be enjoyed in Milton's recreational areas and conservation parks, making it an ideal destination for escaping the urban bustle. The Bruce Trail is ideal for hiking while those who enjoy being in the snow can visit the Glen Eden Ski and Snowboarding Centre for snow tubing, skiing and snowboarding. Crawford Lake Conservation Area features pristine waters and 19 km (12 mi) of spectacular hiking, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. Milton is located on the edge of the Niagara Escarpment, which runs through New York State, Ontario, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Illinois.
